Terminal blocks

Terminal blocks are the deepest-documented family in the components catalogue: 24 models, each with a full product record covering materials, conductor ranges, UL ratings and IEC ratings. That depth is why this family anchors the components line — a buyer can shortlist real models remotely instead of trading emails for basic ratings.

Terminal block 128R-A product
The 128R-A: a rising-clamp PCB terminal block at 5.00 mm pitch.

Worked example: 128R-A in full

The 128R-A record shows the documentation standard. It is a rising-clamp PCB terminal block in PA66 UL94 V-0, single level at 5.00 mm pitch, accepting solid conductors of 0.2–4.0 mm² and stranded conductors of 0.2–2.5 mm² (UL wire range AWG 24–12). The M3 screw tightens at 0.4 N·m (2-pole) or 0.5 N·m (3-pole and above), with a stripping length of 5.8–6.2 mm. UL ratings are 300 V with 20 A in group B and 10 A in group D; IEC ratings include 320 V (III/2), 24 A (III/2) and a 4 kV rated impulse voltage. Operating temperature runs from −40 °C to +105 °C.

Shortlisting by pitch

Pitch is the first filter: 3.50 mm and 3.81 mm models serve compact boards; 5.00 mm and 5.08 mm are the general-purpose heartland (17 of the 24 models); 7.50 mm models take the higher-power end. The R/V suffixes and A/B variants distinguish clamp and format options within each pitch family — name your pitch, conductor range and rating target in the enquiry and the matching records will be pulled in full. The companion blog post, DIN rail terminal blocks: types, ratings & selection, explains how to read the rating tables.

Are full datasheets available?

Each model has a complete record of the kind shown for the 128R-A; request the full table for your shortlisted models with your enquiry.

Can terminal blocks be supplied with our logo?

The OEM/ODM record covers simulating terminal blocks or connectors with or without logo — ask when you enquire.

From shortlist to sample

Terminal blocks are a sample-driven purchase: the record narrows the field, the hand confirms it. The working sequence is to shortlist by pitch and rating from the 24-model range, request the full records for the shortlist, and put samples through the termination your line will actually use — your ferrules, your torque driver, your operators. Blocks that look identical in a table separate quickly in the hand: clamp feel, wire entry forgiveness, marking clarity. Only then does the volume conversation start, and by then it is a conversation about one qualified model rather than a category. The range's structure supports this: the 5.00/5.08 mm heartland covers most general work, so most shortlists are two or three models long.
