Solar ceiling & corridor lights

The least expected part of the solar range works indoors: ceiling and corridor fittings charged by a remote solar panel, built for buildings where grid wiring is absent, unreliable or expensive to run — rural housing, site buildings, corridors, stairwells and outbuildings. Five models are catalogued in this family; three carry detailed records and anchor this page.

Solar ceiling light with remote control

The ceiling light is a 200 × 200 × 90 mm fitting in 15 W and 30 W options, powered from a solar panel charging a lithium 18650 battery (3.7 V, 1200 mA). It is dimmable in three modes and operated by remote control — the practical format for bedrooms and living spaces in off-grid homes, where the panel sits on the roof and the fitting behaves like a normal ceiling light.

Solar corridor lighting system (pendant)

The corridor system is a pendant format delivering a recorded 1600 lm from a DC 6 V supply, in ABS and PC with an IP44 rating. Charging time is 8 hours for 8–12 hours of lighting, with light control plus remote control. At 1600 lm it is a genuine circulation-space light, not a marker — the format for shared corridors and stairwells in multi-unit off-grid buildings.

Solar corridor bulkhead light (PY-LS05)

The bulkhead is the engineered end of the family: a 1000 lm fitting with a LiFePO4 20 AH battery, a light sensor combined with a radar motion sensor, remote control, an 8-hour charging time and a 25 m power cable in the record — the long cable lets the panel sit in full sun while the fitting works deep inside a building. A dedicated solar radar sensor corridor light and a solar induction corridor light are also catalogued in this family.

The wider indoor solar family

Three kit-format systems complete the indoor offer — the solar panel lighting system (model PY01-6V-Y: a 9 V 3 W panel, 6 V/4 AH lead-acid battery and two A60 1 W LED bulbs on a 5 m cable), the solar bulb lighting system and the portable solar lighting system (PY07-3.7V-2). They are covered as systems on the solar range page and quoted as kits.

How does an indoor light charge from solar?

The panel mounts outside — roof or wall — and a cable runs to the fitting and its battery. The bulkhead's record includes a 25 m cable for exactly this.

Which model suits a shared corridor?

The 1600 lm pendant system for continuous circulation light, or the radar bulkhead where occupancy is intermittent and sensor switching saves the battery.

Specifying for shared buildings

Corridor and ceiling fittings in shared buildings are specified by committees and maintained by whoever is cheapest — which means the winning specification is the one with the fewest future decisions. The bulkhead's recorded combination (LiFePO4 20 AH storage, light sensor plus radar motion sensor, remote control) is aimed at exactly that buyer: install once, and let the remote handle the settings the building manager will inevitably want to change. For off-grid schools, clinics and housing blocks, the specification conversation should also cover siting explicitly — where the fitting is mounted and how its sensor field covers the corridor — a consideration that never appears in residential lighting.
